The Independent Tap Room

The Independent is a craft beer taproom and bottleshop located in Hanover, Brighton.

The slogan for the venue is ‘Independent by name, independent by nature’. Run and owned by a local Hanoverian, Matt Russell, this craft beer taproom boasts a vast range of carefully selected beers from independent breweries.

Bringing together the best parts of Hanover (and the rest of Brighton), we at The Independent endeavour to create a buzzing social hub for fellow outgoing Hanoverians, its community, and beyond!

Plus, onsite we also have our very own nano-brewery ‘MOON BREWERY’, run by Head Brewer Martyn Haddock. Martyn brews all sorts of craft beer styles, from sour beers (that include homegrown fruits and berries), to big juicy pale ales, soft and smoky stouts, and lots more! We will always have at least one Moon beer on, giving you the opportunity to swing by and try our in-house brewery any day of the week
